ABOUT

Welcome to The Taste, a nonprofit ministry dedicated to feeding the hungry and homeless in Central Texas. Founded by Rick Cutler, The Taste operates with a mission to serve those in need with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Our story began when Rick Cutler, inspired by a profound desire to make a tangible difference in his community, saw the growing issue of hunger and homelessness and decided to take action. With a background in community service and a heart full of empathy, Rick established The Taste to address the pressing needs of the underserved populations in Central Texas. His vision was simple yet powerful: to ensure that no one in our community goes to bed hungry.

We are registered with the IRS and State of Texas comptroller’s office. We model our mission and vision after three scriptures. Psalms 34:8, Taste and see that the Lord is good. Matthew 22:37, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 25:35, When I was hungry, you fed me, I was thirsty, you gave me a drink, I was a stranger, you invited me in, I was naked, and you clothed me.

At The Taste, we believe that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right. We work tirelessly to provide meals to individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet. Our dedicated team of volunteers and staff come together to prepare and distribute wholesome meals, creating not just a source of sustenance but also a sense of community and hope. Each meal served is a testament to our commitment to showing love and care to our neighbors in need.

Our programs are designed to reach out to the most vulnerable members of our society. Through our mobile food distribution units, community kitchens, and partnerships with local shelters and agencies, we ensure that our services are accessible to those who need them the most. We also offer support services such as food education, job training, and counseling to help individuals regain their independence and build a better future.

At The Taste, we understand that addressing hunger is about more than just providing food; it’s about restoring dignity and fostering hope. We are driven by the belief that by working together, we can create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Our impact is made possible through the generous support of donors, volunteers, and partners who share our vision.

Join us in our mission to make a difference. Whether you contribute your time, resources, or talents, your support can help us continue to serve those in need and build a brighter future for all. Together, we can create a world where hunger is a thing of the past, and every individual has the chance to experience the love and care they deserve.
